Our Wedding Invitations

Goofy Booth - Our Wedding Invites

When it came to getting our wedding invitations made, we couldn’t afford to spend a lot of money, and neither of us were very crafty so didn’t think making them was an option.

We decided to use Indesign and just get them printed.

First thing was design our Monogram

We started by designing a Monogram we liked that we could put on the invites to help tie them al together.

Wedding Invite Monogram

This was simply a combination of our initials, a fancy font, the letters placed together and some leaf was added to match the rest of the invites.

 Onto the Wedding Invitations

We then began the invites, RSVP cards, Wishing well cards and since most of our guests were from out of town, a map showing the location of the ceremony and the reception.

Our invites and cards all used the same leaf pattern and were printed in a way that we could get 3 sets on an a4 page.

Printing our Wedding Invites

Again, we got these printed at Office Works.

The Invites, RSVP Card, Wishing Well cards and maps were all printed on a silver card so this gave it some body and some colour. Everything was printed in Black & White except for the Map which was colour printed. This kept the cost down significantly and then all we had to do was cut them out with a guillotine.

We also had the WedPics App for our wedding so we used the place cards from there template and put our monogram on it so it matched the rest of the invites.

We sent these cards out with the invites so people could download the app before our wedding. We also had them on the tables to remind the guests.

RSVP Cards

It is always difficult to get people to RSVP so we included a card for people to fill out and return. Some of the older generations were still trying to find a RSVP card but most used our cards. It was still a case of having to chase people but I don’t think it was as many had we not included the card. The other thing we included on the RSVP Card was a song request. This was to help with our song selection as we weren’t planning to have a DJ. We wanted to have music our guests would like so this helped and people really felt special when their song came on.

Things I might do differently

We should have provided more information for the wedding app as some people were confused by it.

The other thing was we could have pinned the invited together better. We used heart shaped paper clips but some people still lost some of the cards.
